Booking a bar or lounge in New York
Booking a bar or lounge is the single biggest shortcut in event planning. The drinks programme exists. The glassware exists. The staff who know how to pour for a hundred people exist. Sound and lighting are installed and tuned for the room. Someone already holds the liquor licence. Compare that to an empty space where each of those is a separate vendor, a separate contract and a separate thing that can go wrong on the night.
Our bar and lounge inventory runs from cocktail bars and speakeasies at the intimate end through hotel bars and full lounges up to spaces that hold several hundred, concentrated in Hell's Kitchen, the Lower East Side, the Bowery, Williamsburg and Bushwick. Many are available for full buyout; some rent a defined section while the rest of the room trades normally.
Two things to settle before you sign. First, whether the booking is a buyout or a section — the difference decides whether your event has the room or shares it. Second, the bar arrangement: minimum spend, open bar, consumption tab or cash bar are very different economics for the same guest count, and the number that matters is cost per head, not the hire fee.
