Booking an event space in SoHo
SoHo is the neighbourhood most planners picture when they picture a New York loft, and the catalog reflects that: the spaces here are overwhelmingly lofts, showrooms and retail floors carved out of nineteenth-century cast-iron buildings, with the tall windows and column grids that come with them. Ceiling heights and natural light are the reason people book here, and they are the reason a room in SoHo photographs better than a comparably sized room almost anywhere else in the city.
The range is unusually wide. Our SoHo listings start around $50 an hour for small meeting and studio space and run past $2,000 for full-floor lofts and penthouses, with capacities from six-person rooms up to five hundred. That spread makes SoHo one of the few neighbourhoods where a product launch, a board offsite and a wedding reception are all plausible on the same street.
Practical notes: load-in is the constraint here, not the room. Many buildings are walk-ups or share a single freight elevator with retail tenants, and Broadway and Spring are difficult for trucks during business hours. If your event involves staging, catering equipment or anything on wheels, confirm freight access and load-in windows with the host before you book.
