Booking a retail space in New York
Retail space is the only category in the catalog where the point is who walks past. A storefront with a street-level window and foot traffic does something no loft on the fourth floor can do: it puts your product in front of people who were not invited. For pop-ups, product launches, sampling, trunk shows and brand activations, that visibility is the entire proposition.
Our retail inventory is street-level storefronts, showrooms, boutiques and a bookstore, concentrated in SoHo, Greenwich Village and Williamsburg — the three neighbourhoods where pedestrian volume actually justifies the rate. Spaces here are typically smaller than event venues and priced accordingly.
Before you book, get clear on three things that are specific to this category: whether you can change the window display and signage, whether the space comes empty or with fixtures you must work around, and what the building and the lease permit in terms of sales, sampling and alcohol. A pop-up that cannot legally transact is an expensive display case.
